本次公开课的内容为PEP七年级上册第八单元When is your birthday?的第一课时,课型为听说课。本节课的学习重点是1-12月份的单词及序数词1-31的表达,还有询问别人生日的提问和回答 When is your/her/his/sb’s birthday? It’s on____/My birthday is on ______.学习难点在于12个月份的读写和记忆,以及对应的缩写形式。鉴于日期的表达贯穿初中三年学习及连接高中知识,也是中高考的必考词汇,因此需要学生在这节课中学会并熟练掌握。
以下是本节课的教学设计:

Step 1: Greeting
Greet Ss and tell Ss the key point of this lesson.
Step 2: Lead-in
Show a video clip of the Happy Birthday song to remind Ss of the point of the lesson. Tell Ss that we sing the song at sb’s birthday.
Then show the learning aims of the class.
T: Do you want to know my birthday? I’ll leave a suspense for you.
Step 3: Before-listening
①Show Ss calendar of the year, and ask how many months are there in a year. Then show the words on the blackboard: January February March April May June July August September October November December and their abbreviations Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr. May Jun. Jul. Aug. Sept. Oct. Nov. Dec.
Game: if T shouts out the word, Ss whisper it; if T whispers the word, Ss shout it out. (大小声游戏)

Lead to the ordinal numbers from first to thirty-first. Let Ss summarize the rules of changing the cardinal numbers into ordinal numbers.

② Ask Ss to read after the tape. ( Group 1&2 play A, Group 3&4 play B.)
③ Listen again and fill in the blanks. (prepare a piece of paper and write down the answers on the sheet.)
Step 5: Post-listening

Leave one minute to Ss to practice with their deskmate. Then ask some of Ss to show their performance.
Step 6: Emotional goal
T: You were babies, crying; you were kids, playing with your friends; now you are teenagers, learning in this classroom. You born in the world and grow older and older. Birthday is the day you were born. But the day you were born was the day your mothers suffer. Your mothers give you lives. I hope every one of you will hug your mother and tell her “Mom, I love you” after school.
T: you still remember my question at the beginning? Let me tell you my birthday. It’ on September 15th.

① Shoot a video clip to introduce your family’s birthdays. Send it to our Wechat class group.

教后反思:
本节课难点在于月份的表达和基数词到序数词的转换,这是表达日期的关键。评课会上,各位老师既对我的课有肯定的地方,同时也给我提出了宝贵的意见:
①口语表达 Your voice is small(x) low (✓)。
②句子教学里没有体现 My birthday is in_____.
③单词练习可以加转盘游戏。
④PPT设计可以再修改一下。
⑤序数词的缩写形式可以带上。
⑥后半部分游戏有点少,可加上一个survey游戏。
