A noblest man in England came to Mr. Holder’s bank to advance 50000 pounds and his security was the Beryl Coronet and he said he would get it back next Monday.
To keep the coronet safer, Mr. Holder carried it to his home and put it in his own bureau. During his talk about his experience with his son Arthur and his niece Mary, his client Lucy came in once.
At night, Mr. Holder heard the sound and get to find Arthur was holding the coronet and three stones in the coronet were missing.
We got to Mr. Holder’s house and Holmes investigated it carefully. Holmes got the truth.
Sir George Burnwell, Arthur’s friend who always called upon the house, captivated Mary and let her stole the coronet for him when he knew this. And Mary did as he said and it was seen by Arthur. Arthur loved Mary so when he was mistakenly identified as the thief, he didn’t tell the truth. But then he realized it was a serious matter so he ran to catch Geroge and get the coronet back but left three stones in Geroge’s hands.
Holmes deducted it and went to look for George and eventually got the gems back.
Miss Hunter, a governess asked for Holmes’ advice whether she should accept Mr. Rucastle’s employment, because she thought it strange. Mr. and Mrs. Rucastle asked her to cut off her long hair. Finally, she decided to accept this job and kept in touch with Holmes.
Two weeks later, we met Miss Hunter and listened to her story. Mr. and Mrs. Rucastle asked her to wear her daughter’s dress, who was said to go to the US because she couldn’t get along with her step-mother Mrs. Rucastle. Miss Hunter’s job was to look after a six-year-old boy whose disposition was not good. One day, Miss Hunter went into an empty house and was found by Mr. Rucastle and he was very angry.
After that, Holmes and I went to Mr. Rucastle’s house secretly when they weren’t in, but we didn’t find Alice. Then Mr. Rucastle came back and was almost bitten to death by his hungry Carlo, who was only tamed by his servant Mr. Toller.
In fact, to use his daughter Miss Alice’s money, Mr. Rucastle wanted her to sign a paper, which made her got brain-fever. Then Mr. Rucastle took her to the empty house as the prison. And Miss Hunter was brought to get rid of Miss Alice’s boy friend Mr. Fowler. But Mr. Fowler united Mr. and Mrs. Toller to save Miss Alice through the roof window when the owners were out.
