On Chinese New Year's Eve,families have a big dinnertogether. They often eat fishand dumplings.
在中国的除夕夜，一家人在一起吃大餐。他们经常吃鱼和饺子。
People visit their friends and relatives. Children often get red packets with some money in them.
人们拜访他们的朋友和亲戚。孩子们经常收到装着钱的红包。
People also watch fireworks atnight. They like the beautifulfireworks very much.
人们也在晚上看烟花。他们非常喜欢这些美丽的烟花。
The story of Nian
年的故事
Nian is a monster. He lives in the hills. At the end ofevery year, he goes into the village and eats people！
年是个怪物。他住在山上。每年年底，他都会走进村子吃人！
One day, an old man comes to the village.
一天，一位老人来到村子里。
He said he could scare away the beast.
他说自己可以吓跑年兽。
That night, people heard boom, bang, and clang.
那天晚上，人们听到“噼里啪啦”“轰隆隆”的声音。
Nian was gone, and he never came back again.
年兽走了，再也没有回来过。
