In 2016, many people around the world were impressed by a rabbit police officer called Judy who dreamed big, and a funny fox called Nick.
They were the characters in the Disney film“Zootopia”.Six years later, its follow-up drama“Zootopia+” premiered on Disney+ on Nov 9.
It continued to take a deep dive into the animal city and explore more stories of its residents, including the fashion-forward arctic shrew Fru Fru, the sweet-toothed cheetah Clawhauser and sleepy sloth Flash.
Though their stories vary, they all still live in the same ecosystem, which is an important theme for the series.
Just as the title of the series-Zootopia -showsthere is a “utopia”for all animals where there is a social contract between all species, with predators and prey working together. Yet,civilized society has never been perfect, as discrimination and false perceptions still exist.
Does that mean the world doesn’t deserve to be protected? Maybe not.With the aim of building a true utopia, residents like the rabbit police officer Judy spare no effort in breaking through barriers.
The series Zootopia isn't a film only for kids, but explores human society in a creative way. Like Zootopia, all humans want to live together peacefully and harmoniously. But they’re also troubled by many problems, such as racial discrimination, war and
economic crisis.
The series wants to show everyone: Even though human beings don't always get along, “when they have stuff in common that they need,then everything chills out. Everyone behaves," said USA Today.
