Knowledge comes from books, wisdom from experiences of the world. Experimentation is a walking classroom, application is a living classroom. When book knowledge is extended and applied into real-life experience, it becomes alive and real. With the intention to promote our children's enthusiasm for learning, cultivating pupils' creativity and helping them understand the world outside China so that our students can grow their perspectives, the Sino-Sin Class of Sanya Overseas Chinese School is presently conducting an immersion programme in Singapore from 12 August, 2023. We bring our students out of Hainan, China to experiemce the world!

Day 1 - Terminal 4. We arrived at the world-class Singapore Changi Airport on the first day. Our students also visited Jewel Changi. The 49-meter high iconic Rain Vortex left an indelible imprint on each of our students.
第一天 - 抵达新加坡4号站楼。同学们也游览了星耀樟宜。同学们在这高达49米的标志性景点雨漩涡留下了震撼的回忆。

Singapore is a cosmopolitan city-state, a multicultural society where people come from all over the world with different cultural backgrounds. That Singaporeans have a common language to communicate is an important building stone in Singapore society where harmony, mutual understanding and respect is achieved. In Singapore, the English Language is the compulsory first language for students in school. English is also the official language and working language of Singapore.

Singapore has a first-class education system and an academic mindset. The two universities in Singapore - National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University are Top 8 and 26 respectively in the world ranking. We arranged for our pupils to visit the Nanyang Technological University. They had the opportunity to attend an English lesson with a university professor.

今天下午我们去了植物园，植物园里的空气很清新，就像世外桃源一样。那里的树木都很茂盛，大概是这里气候的关系吧。新加坡一年的温度是25度—30度左右。植物园还有很多叫不出名字的植物，令我们目不暇接，大开眼界。

Next, we visited the Botanical Gardens this afternoon. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The air in the Botanical Gardens is so refreshing. It's just like a paradise. The trees are lush and giant because of the hot and wet climate here. The annual temperature in Singaporeis around 25⁰C - 30⁰C. It's simply eye-opening to see so many unusual plants and tall trees in the gardens.

离开美丽的植物园，我们又来到了新加坡滨海堤坝，这座创意设施不仅为新加坡储⽔供⽔，防洪及缓解淹⽔情况，还可摇⾝华为举家同游的消闲胜地。听着导游的介绍，了解滨海堤坝的重要性，不由得感叹这世界奇观。
Leaving the beautiful Botanical Gardens, we came to the Marina Barrage. This huge and innovative dam and reservoir. It not only stores water for Singapore, it prevents and alleviates flooding. The Marina Barrage also serves as a leisure spot for families. We saw kite-flying here, people jogging and cycling. Listening to the tour guide's presentation and understanding the importance of the Marina Barrage to Singapore's survival as a nation, I couldn't help but marvel at this wonder of the world that took 20 years to build.
