(Grain in) Minor Fullness

昨夜玉盤沉大江，夜來忽夢薺麥香。

時人但只餐中飽，莫忘舊時苦菜黃。

Last night, the Disc of Jade sank into the river,

And dream came, with a sweet smell of buckwheats.

My folks, that have barely had a stomach full,

Forget you not the yellow sowthistles of yesteryear.

(Grain in) Minor Fullness

子規聲裡雨如煙，潤逼紅綃透客氈。

映水黃梅多半老，鄰家蠶熟麥秋天。

The rain does fall like mist 'midst cuckoo calls,

And damp is the air, that soaks through the shirts.

And yellow plums, reflected in water, are ripe,

As harvest comes for neighbours' silkworms and wheats.

April in the Country

綠遍山原白滿川，子規聲裡雨如煙。

鄉村四月閒人少，才了蠶桑又插田。

The paddies are a full white against a full green,

The rain does fall like mist 'midst cuckoo calls.

In April, idle country folks are rarely seen,

As silkworms are gone, and time for seedlings falls.
