西晋时期Mature Vinegar Chicken

It originated accidentally from the Western Jin Dynasty. At that time, the governor of Yingyang County named the dish "Mature Vinegar Chicken".

清末时期 Gongbao Chicken

Then, in the late Qing Dynasty, because of Zeng Guofan, its name was changed from Mature Vinegar Chicken to Gongbao Chicken.

民国时期Dong'an Chicken

Now, let's walk into its name Dong'an Chicken. Tang Shengzhi, a famous patriotic general in the Republic of China, often served it as a big finale to his guests.He proudly said, "It  is a  specialty from  my  hometown, Dong'an, and hence I call it Dong'an Chicken". The dish received much praise from his guests because it is good in color and flavor, including fragrant, sweet, sour, spicy, tender, and crispy. Since then, its name Dong'an Chicken has been passed down from generation to generation.

1972年尼克松访华,东安鸡走向国际

When US President Nixon visited China in 1972, Chairman Mao Zedong also entertained him with Dong'an Chicken as one of the banquet dishes. Nixon spoke highly of the excellent taste of Dong'an  Chicken. The dish soon spread to North America, Japan, Singapore, and other countries. From then on, it has been famous at home and abroad.
