单元主题：This is my new home.
本单元属于“人与自我”主题范围，涉及“生活与学习”主题群中的“身边的事物与环境”。
本单元围绕我的新家这一主题展开，共包含六个课时的内容，包括三个对话、一个绘本故事、一篇配图科普小短文和一次综合实践活动。
语篇一是有关小学生的日常生活对话。Kate来到Li Yan的新家参观，Li Yan对Kate的到来表示欢迎，在客厅招待Kate并介绍了客厅的环境布置。通过Li Yan对自己新家客厅的介绍，让学生初步了解常见的家居环境布置。
语篇二是有关小学生的日常生活对话。Kate继续在Li Yan的新家做客，Li Yan邀请Kate参观自己的卧室和书房，并介绍了其中的环境布置。通过Li Yan和Kate对卧室、书房中家居物品的对话交流，使学生增强合理摆放家居物品的认识。
语篇三是有关小学生的日常生活对话。Li Yan热情留Kate在自己家吃饭，并带Kate参观了自家厨房和餐厅并介绍了其中的环境布置。通过Li Yan对自己新家厨房和餐厅的介绍，让学生深刻体会“家”的含义，形成安于所居的积极情感体验，使学生懂得爱家，爱身边的人和事物。
语篇四是绘本故事。故事由小到大展开叙述，从房间、房子、街道，逐步扩大到城市、省、国家，最后延伸至世界，并道出这个世界就是我们称之为家的地方。该语篇有助于学生意识到我们人类是在地球上生活，在地球上安家，形成“共享一片天空，同住一个地球，全世界人类都是一家人”的认识，懂得不仅要爱家，还要爱国爱世界。
语篇五是配图科普小短文。短文主要介绍了世界上各种各样、形态各异的房屋住宅。该语篇通过拓展学生对房屋住宅的认识引发学生对“人人有所居”的思考，引导学生树立携手共圆安居梦的理想。
语篇六是以“设计梦想之家”为主题的英语综合实践活动。通过复习跟家有关的核心语言，开展设计我心目中的梦想之家拓展活动，让学生把“人人有所居 共圆安居梦”的想法落实到画纸上，形成个性化的设计作品。本课时将语言学习与科学教育、艺术教育、劳动教育相融合，引导学生在体验和实践中不断学习并实现个性发展。
以下为学生在本单元需要学习的核心知识和技能：
本单元的六个语篇从不同视角谈论“家”，单元内各语篇于单元主题之间以及各个语篇之间都相互关联，构成相应子主题，且子主题之间呈现关联性。各分课时围绕单元主题和子主题依次展开，各个课时之间既相互独立，又紧密联系，同时体现出层次性。学生的语言学习渗透并贯穿于主题探究的过程中，学习活动由浅到深，理解性技能和表达性技能协同发展，进而形成基于This is my new home.这一主题的结构化知识（见下图）

语篇一：Welcome to my new home!
K: Hello, Li Yan.
L: Hi, Kate! Welcome to my new home. Look, this is the living room.
K: Wow! There is a new TV, a new DVD player and a big clock.
L: Have a seat, please. The sofas and armchairs are new, too.
K: Oh! There are three kites and four balloons.
语篇二：Look at my bedroom.
L: Look at my bedroom. There is a new bed.
K: Oh! And there’s a new desk and a new chair.
L: Look! What’s in my study?
K: Wow! There are two pictures and a computer.
语篇三：I love my home.
L: This is the dining room and that’s the kitchen.
K: Oh! There is a new table and four new chairs.
K: What’s in the kitchen?
L: Come and see.
K: Wow! There is a new fridge.
L: All are new. I love my home.
语篇四：A Place Called Home
This is a room.
The room is in a house.
The house is on a street.
The street is in a city.
The city is in a province.
The province is in a country.
The country is in the world.
The world is the place we called home.
语篇五：All Kinds of Homes
Where do people live? People live in homes. Not all homes are the same. Homes can be big or small. They can be made of different things.
A house is one kind of home. It stands on its own. It has its own roof and front door. Apartments are another kind of home. They have one roof and neighbors live on other floors. A motor home is another kind of home. It has wheels and it can move from place to place. A houseboat is another kind of home. It floats on water and it has fish and other boats as neighbors. A courtyard house is another kind of home. It is a large house. The main part of the building is around a central courtyard. A Mongolian tent is another kind of home. It is a movable tent.
Homes can be the same in some ways. Homes can also be different in many ways.

First, investigate people's housing needs. Then, think carefully and form ideas. And, draw on paper. Finally, show your work.
