Our first unit in Cloud Class has officially come to an end. What an experience it has been! The little ones in our class have grown so much in their first two months at school. We have observed remarkable changes in them, and we are so proud to share these with you. From improvements in their communication skills to doing things more independently, their growth and determination knows no bounds. We hope you enjoy reading about their special moments in the final stretch of our unit.
This first unit centered around the idea that our daily routines helps us manage our time and activities. We learned about many different routines in our kindergarten. We learned about the morning health check routine, the kitchenette routine and how to put the baby to sleep. After children’s hard work and efforts, they were able to complete these routines with little support from the teachers. We invited the parents of our Cloud Class family to witness the incredible growth of the children. Take a look.
For our circle time, the children prepared a performance of The Hungry Caterpillar. Through their preparation, the children strengthened their English language comprehension and speaking. They were able to review the sentence structures and vocabulary we were learning throughout the unit. They were able to show how much their confidence has grown and how their self-management skills have improved. The children had a lot of fun in this play-based performance and everyone enjoyed the show.
After circle time, the children and parents participated in rich and engaging small group activities. Children had the chance to show how much they know about the activities we do in kindergarten.
"I eat breakfast."
"I play."
"I drink water."
"I sleep."
"I eat lunch."
"I wash my hands."
"I have circle time."
"I go home."
"I line up."
They could also share their knowledge about the morning health check routine.
We also role played putting the baby to sleep. Children could perform most of the tasks independently. They could take off the baby’s shoes. They could undress the baby, put on the baby’s pyjamas, cover the baby with the blanket, fold the baby’s clothes, and soothe the baby with a lullaby until the baby fell asleep. Our Cloud Class children are so caring!
We also played in the kitchenette. The children knew that they should choose a role first. They could be a little chef or a customer. If they were the chef, they knew how to ask what the customer would like to eat, and how to prepare and serve the food to the customer. Way to go, little ones!
We are so proud of all your achievements in this first unit of inquiry. We can’t wait to see the heights you’ll reach in the new unit. Come on, Cloud Class! We are always rooting for you!
