On June 2, 2024, 20 sudents from Grade 7 held an activity about the sharing of reading English Picture Books in the school library.
In the activity, the students shared the English Picture Books that they read in the holidays. They introduced the main ideas of the stories, shared the feelings, and showed the reasons of their recommendation.

Zha Zehan from Class Three shared Swimmy.
Swimmy is the only small black fish in the deep sea world. When it encounters another group of small red fish that have taken refuge in fear, it teaches everyone to swim in the shape of a super big red fish and transform itself into black eyes. They scare away the ferocious fish! The optimism, courage and wit of the little black fish are the main content he shared with everyone, and the bright colors of the picture book also firmly caught the eyes of the children.
The Cat Who Lives 1 million Timesis a story shared by Chen Siqi from Class Three. The protagonist is a cat with an infinite number of lives that has died 1 million times and lived 1 million times. These 1 million lives are just repetition for him, and it doesn't mean anything. Until in the millionth and first life, he became a wild cat, and when he really likes the white cat, has the ability to love, and understands the unforgettable love, he finds the meaning of his existence. Through a simple story, the author allows readers to experience the meaning of life.
No, David is from Du Jinze from Class Three. Every kid who has seen No, David loves him very much, this innocent little boy who makes a mess of the house, makes them feel happy and relieved. David was tightly held in his arms by his mother, closed his eyes happily, and his mother's words "David is good, I love you" immediately resolved all David's tears and grievances. This stroke is so warm that the whole story takes a sharp turn, and the story of a childhood prank ends with such an act of love.
Fan Jiaqi from Class Three shared Sam Sheep Can’ Sleep. Sam the sheep can't sleep, and he finds Dog Pup to help. Dog Pup took him to Fat Cat, and Fat Cat told them to find Ted, and Ted led them to Big Big Pig, and Big Big Pig, though not happy, took them with him to do a jig, and Sam the sheep fell asleep. The picture book is vivid and interesting, and although the content is simple, it shows that friends help each other and resist each other, conveying friendship and love.
Su Yanghaoyu shared a magic story A magician’s House. This is a mysterious picture book that allows the reader to experience fantastical magic, as if it really takes the reader to a magical world. In this house, grass grows on the carpet, chairs fly, chocolate milk or mud squirts from the faucet, mirrors make grimaces, and the brontosaurus takes a bath in the bathroom, a series of episodes that make people wonder and curious, and also make the reader full of fantasy in the process of reading.
Maisy’s Christmas Eve is from Zang Xinyue from Class Three. This picture book is not simply about eating, drinking, and playing at Christmas, but about how friends help and share with each other, and I hope that children can always face it with the happiest heart, no matter what terrible difficulties they face, just like the cute and colorful Bobo.
Lei Yiran from Class One shared the story The Very Busy Spider. It is a classic children's picture book created by Eric Carr. The story tells the story of a spider who kept weaving the web and finally weaved a beautiful web. The repetitive plot tells a lesson that will last a lifetime. This is really a focused spider and we should learn from it. Only by concentrating on doing one's own thing, persevering, and not being disturbed by the outside world can we achieve something.
Moon Bear’s Shadow is from Wang Mingxi from Class One. The bear tries to catch the fish, but his shadow scares the fish away. In order to drive away his shadow, the bear tried his best, but in the end he did not succeed. It told us that we should do our best to solve the problems.
Holly’s New Friend Holly is from Zhang Junxi who studies in Class One. Holly was bored at home, and she adopt a dog --- Eco. In this book, you can not only find the friend ship, but also the dream and hope. The reader can also learn to cherish, learn to communicate, and learn to pursue the dream in the heart bravely.
Gong Yibo from Class One shared The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The story is full of poetry and creativity, and the content of the story is very simple, it tells us how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. Cute caterpillars, interesting plots and pictures, all of a sudden fascination of children, not to mention the enlightenment of mathematical thinking and natural science, children will have unexpected story surprises in reading.
The Snowy Day is shared by Fu Xinxin from Class Four. Winter is coming, what interesting imagination will a snowy day arouse in children? This realistic little tale is simple and tells us how a child grows up and learns to cope with ever-changing problems. The intriguing plot brings them back to childhood memories that were once innocent. Oh, yes! I woke up early in the morning and found it a snowy day. It is believed that anyone who lives in a cold climate may have memories of playing outside on a snowy day. That's exactly what the story is about, all of them have an experience of venturing on a snowy day.
Lei Yiran from Class One shared The Samosa Thief. The samosas that made by mum were stolen at home. The whole family members tried their best to find out the thief --- their pet dog Bebji. The story is very easy, but it's very interesting. From reading the story, you can feel the love of the family.
We're Going On A Bear Hurt from Cao Jianhui and I Went Walking from Dang Shuangyuan were very interesting stories. The words and sentences were simple and the plots were interesitng. From reading the story, we can think of the beautiful childhood of ourselves.
A Great Day For Pup and Vocanoes from Zhan Guoer and Zheng Xinchang are scientific books. From these books, we can know a lot of knowledge about wild animals and different types of volcanoes.
Give Thanks For Each Day is a beautiful poem from Liu Xinyang from Class Four. Through reading, children not only experience the beauty of language, but also feel the power of love, and learn to be grateful and grateful.
