In the morning, after an hour and a half of driving, we came to today's first stop: Yuanjia village. First of all, the five classes had a big competition in Shaanxi dialect, and all of the students in our class actively participated, especially Kong Zihan and Sun Xuanyu who led the reading, which fully reflected their outstanding and the unity of our class.
Then, each group split up and tasted the local snacks:Twist, cold skin, rice noodles and all kinds of noodles... The food allowed students to better feel the local customs and experience different cultures.
After tasting the colorful Xi'an snacks, we visited the Village History Hall to learn about the development of the history and successful experience of Yuanjia village. Through the story of Guo Yulu, a model figure, we realized the vanguard role of an excellent party members, which are self-reliance and hard work.
Then, we came to Xi'an Museum. Xi 'an Museum is located at No. 72, Youyi West Road, Beilin District, Xi 'an City, with a construction area of 16,000 square meters. It is a comprehensive local museum that integrates cultural relics collection, scientific research, social education and garden leisure functions. Xi 'an Museum is composed of three parts: the main building of the museum, the ruins of Tang Jianfu Temple and the famous historical site of Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Xi 'an Museum is committed to becoming an important platform that connects history with modernity and promotes cultural exchanges.
Among all the exhibits in the museum, the most impressive one is the exhibition of bronze mirrors, which showcases bronze mirrors unearthed from various dynasties. Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty once said, "If a man uses copper as a mirror, he can straighten his clothes and crown; if he uses history as a mirror, he can know his rise and fall; if he uses people as a mirror, he can see his gains and losses." Throughout history, mirrors have played a comprehensive role in reflecting one's personal image and promoting reflection. The teacher said, "Emperor Taizong of Tang relied on widely listening to advice and treating people as his own mirror to promote the governance of Zhenguan." This enlightens us that in life, only by widely listening to the opinions of others and constantly improving ourselves can we achieve ultimate success.
In the course of the visit, we mainly visited the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Baiyi Pavilion, Little Goose Pagoda Drum Tower, Xi 'an Museum and so on.
Little Wild Goose Pagoda is a stupa with a long history. The purpose is to store Buddhist scriptures, Buddha statues and other sacred objects brought back from India by the Tang Dynasty monk Yijing. The Little Wild Goose Pagoda and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda face each other from east to west. They are both landmark buildings of Chang 'an City in Tang Dynasty, witnessing the prosperity of ancient Chinese Buddhist culture and the exchanges along the Silk Road.
Baiyi Pavilion is named for its worship of the white-clad Avalokitesvara(观世音), a Bodhisattva of mercy and wisdom in Buddhism, and "Baiyi" represents her image, which is often dressed in white.
As we all know, Xi'an is a beautiful city full of historical marks and cultural customs. Exploring the hutongs in Xi 'an, you will find a unique treasure- -Xi' an Huimin Street.
The Huimin Street is located next to the Bell tower, which is a representative of the Hui culture. The food in Huimin Street is mouth-watering, every stand is surrounded by aroma. Here, we tasted many food and snacks, such as roujiamo, liangpi and pomegranate juice. What’s more, we found many Xi'an cultural products, including different postcards, view spot models, Hanfu, etc.
In the night, the Huimin is brightly lit. You can experience the perfect integration of tradition and modernity here. The ancient buildings, tempting food and lively crowd together make this charming city.
