Last two weeks we have learned that environment will be affected by human actions. Some of the actions are good for it, but some of the actions are harmful to it.
How do human actions affect our environment?
This week we are inquiring into different habitats.
Ocean
Rainforest
Desert
Polar regions
Jungle
……
After we have learned different habitats, children got opportunities to vote for the ones they want to create in our learning space
The first one they chose was ocean.
What does the ocean look like?
What kind of living things are there in the ocean?
In children's eyes, the oceans they see are clean and blue, and there are lots of living things.
There are different types of fishes;
lots of crabs;
different types of lobsters;
lots of colorful corals;
lots of sea plants;
Children got opportunities to make our K2B oceans with different art materials. Such as, clay、colorful paper、pipe cleaner、seashells、nutshells and so on. During the process, children were little thinkers and inquirers.
Children decided to paint the veil into blue to make our K2B ocean.
Then they started to build our ocean with KT board and blue veil. They covered the KT board with the blue veil. Then they put their works in the ocean
What other living things in the ocean except those animals?
Sea plants
We are making sea weed. We draw the outlines and cut the shapes
We also designed some corals to decorate our ocean
We are decorating our sea weed
Oceans made by K2B
We will continue to decorate our ocean next week with more living things
The second one they chose to build is rainforest.
Why is there so much rain in the tropical rainforest?
What kind of living things does the rainforest have?
As for the rainforest, children are very curious.
They found the answers from the books
It’s very hot there
There are lots of trees
We starting to make our rainforest
First, we make the trees
What does the rainforest look like?
We are drawing the rainforest
We made some trees and brought some animals from home
Our K2B rainforest
Except the rainforest and ocean, we still made a polar region
We build the polar region with blocks
Through the books, we have learned that the icebergs in the polar regions is melting
Why are the icebergs melting?
Because the global warming
We also got the opportunities to make an experiment to see how ice melts
Through the experiment, we have learned that icebergs melt faster when it becomes hotter
Our Igloo
